Russia’s war against Ukraine has led to large-scale displacement of the country’s population, with citizens from areas near the front lines in particular fleeing westward. In the city of Voznesensk, located in the Mykolaiv Oblast and at a relatively safe distance from the front lines, there is therefore a demand for housing for families arriving from the east.
In this project, we are developing a preliminary design for housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs). We are doing this to assist the Municipality of Voznesensk, which will thereby be able to reduce the cost of providing housing.
The project is part of Architects Without Borders’ Build Back Green Ukraine portfolio, as we are also seeking to develop low-emission buildings here.
Development goals
- Assist a Ukrainian municipality in providing housing for internally displaced families.
- To work with the municipality to develop a housing type that is both eco-friendly and cost-effective…
