Architects Without Borders is an association that works to create development with architecture and planning as tools.
We believe that decent living conditions are a human right and that the built environment plays a large and often under-recognized role in the ability of people and communities to develop their potential.
That’s why we make architectural knowledge available to civil society and organizations that normally don’t have access to it. In doing so, we take responsibility for the architectural profession developing in a solidary and environmentally sustainable direction.
Through our thematic programs, we work in a project-oriented and practical way to support vulnerable people at home and abroad. This also creates experience and knowledge building among architects in Denmark, for the benefit of the part of the Danish architectural profession that plays in the global workplace.
We consist of a small secretariat, some 40 volunteers and are supported by around 500 members from different professions. Most are architects, but all professions are welcome in the organization. You can join us a member here.
Architects Without Borders is a Danish charitable, registered organization with CVR no. 31535840
Architects Without Borders was founded in 2008 and is a member of the umbrella organization Architecture Sans Frontières International (ASF-int).
We are part of an international architectural network with “The Hasselt Charter” as our shared set of values.
