Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke’s Training Center for Development Cooperation (TCDC) is a recognized training center in Arusha, Tanzania. Since 1967, the center has been training people in leadership, democracy, human rights and climate change.
The center offers both short courses and longer programs, including bachelor and master programs. It is also known for its Swahili courses. MS TCDC works to empower citizens and organizations to create positive change in society.
Through partnerships and networks across Africa and the rest of the world, the center contributes to social development and democracy.
Since the 1960s, when TCDC was established through an agreement between the Danish and Tanzanian governments, the school has provided a framework for training and capacity building of both activists and professionals.
In this project, we collaborate with Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke on the design and construction of a large assembly hall, transforming the outdoor areas into a showcase for green technologies and advising on the renovation of parts of the existing building stock.
Development goals:
- Increase TCDS’s room capacity and thus enable more people to be trained.
- Through a distinctive building, help mark TCDC’s position as East Africa’s leading developmental training center.
- Increase awareness of green technologies such as solar energy, rainwater harvesting, composting and the like by demonstrating their use in practice
