In the wake of the international climate summit, COP15, in 2009 in Belle Center, Copenhagen, Architects Without Borders launched the exhibition “Spatial Statistics,” focused on differences in living standards and living spaces across developed and less developed countries around the world. Throughout a week in which numbers, graphs, and forecasts were constantly buzzing, we decided on a more tangible approach, facilitating discussions about climate and sustainability on a scale of 1:1.
As a commentary to the COP15 Summit, the exhibition aimed to create a space allowing us to reflect on our own lifestyle choices and unsustainable consumption by pointing to the apparent differences in living standards and resource consumption. Additionally, the exhibition furthermore opened discussions on how we as individuals can contribute to influencing the world in a more sustainable trajection.
The exhibition was on show throughout COP15 and activated the space between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Architecture Center.
