The buildings in which we live, work and spend time, have a huge impact on our health. As architects, we can actively work to reduce and eliminate the health hazards and sources of infection that surround us.
Health and architecture is more than just clinics and hospitals. Even small design tweaks can change human behavior, mitigate a risk and lift entire communities out of health crises.
In this Evening Without Borders, we explore the role of architecture in health, with a focus on the Global South. We will be introduced to research in the field, concrete projects and what it means to work with healthcare buildings as an architect.
The event will be held on Thursday, November 9th from 18:00 to 20:00, in the beautiful Valencia Hall at Vesterbrogade 32, Copenhagen.
Speakers:
Peter Kjær Mackie Jensen, Professor and Ph.D., Copenhagen Center for Disaster research, Copenhagen University
Mauro Lucardi, architect and volunteer at Doctors Without Borders
Jakob Brandtberg Knudsen, Dean, Royal Danish Academy, School of Architecture
