We are incredibly proud to announce our latest project, Byg UDENFOR has been awarded the City Architect’s Special Prize for Temporary Architecture in Aarhus with the following statement:
“Ownership, belonging, and community have been created, and six people who have found it difficult to feel at home in our society have been given a better foundation for creating a life in a less vulnerable position.”
Byg UDENFOR was developed in collaboration with the organization Projekt UDENFOR and consists of six 15 m2 uniquely designed wooden houses for the homeless. Throughout the project, the users have been involved in constructing the houses, which are now located temporarily between the former hospital buildings at Aarhus County Hospital.
Our special thanks to Projekt UDENFOR for an excellent collaboration – and to those involved and committed team members such as Kim Pretzmann Olesen, Maria Viva, Jens Balle Christensen, Nikita Gyawali, and Eva Aagaard.
